Structure

The volume is made up of six contributions. The first introduces the concept of e-learning, which also clarifying the most diffused terminology, the follow contributions concentrate on specific distance learning didactic experiences of Italian to foreigners (from Italian for special uses and Italian for Erasmus students to Italian for immigrants).

Contents

An updated and complete panorama of the different methods of use for information technology which shows that the didactic choices and the technologies used change according to the reference group and of the motivations for studying. Some of these experiences here described have obtained the European Language Label (the European Community’s prize for linguistic projects, which are distinct in their impulse for language teaching and learning, through innovations and didactic practices and teaching efficiency).

The author

Andrea Villarini (editor) is Associate Professor of Modern Language Teaching at the University for Foreigners in Siena. He is director of the specialisation school in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language. The volume includes contributions from: Stefano Penge, Donatella Troncarelli, Marco Cassandro, Sabrina Maffei, Elisabetta Jafranceso, Ivana Fratter, Giuseppe Nuccetelli.
